The task: To reconstruct the 3D-distribution of conductivity of the medium on the base of areal TEM data mesh over an area of 400 sq km. Provide the detailing of the conductivity (permeability) distribution on the level of Vendian-Riphean collector.
The feature of solvable task:
Сritically high electrical conductivity of the upper part of section (40-100 Sm) in respect to conductivity of the target of interest (12 Sm).
On the section (figure, c)) the graph showing the total conductivity of section and productive layer is placed.
The comparative result of 1D- and 3D- interpretation are shown on the figure (parts a) and b). It’s seen that a collector with lateral non-uniformity is clearly mapped by 3D- inversion. 1D-interpretation result is more about to correspond with inhomogeneities of the upper part of section than to estimate characteristics of a productive layer because of dominate affection of inhomogeneities of the upper part of section.
